Blubber Recipe

This craft is a fun one this week, Blubber! We actually made this at VBS last week and my kids love it! So, here's what you'll need to make your own glob of Blubber:

  1. 3/4 Cup warm water
  2. 1 Cup white glue
  3. 4 TSP Borax
  4. 1 and 1/3 Cups warm water

You do need to mix two separate solutions, so this is how:

  1. Solution A: Mix 3/4 cup warm water, 1 cup white glue in separate bowl
  2. Solution B: Mix 4 TSP Borax, 1 and 1/3 cups warm water in separate bowl
  3. Pour solution A into solution B slowly.
  4. Mix up the solution with your hands – yeap, your hands are gonna get nasty!
  5. Lift the Blubber out and continue to squeeze and knead it with your hands.

The blubber will look like this after a few minutes of squeezing

This did turn out to be less messy than I thought! And, if ya get it on your carpet, you just take rubbing alcohol and it comes out like a charm (my BFF found this remedy this since my niece got it in the carpet :-).

Don't forget to send in any pics you have as you've been completing your own Summer Survival Kits! Time is definitely challenging me to stay on top of all of them, but my kids do have fun when we make our crafts together – that's what I wanted :-)

My son loves this stuff. I can’t wait to try it out. Thanks for all your summer survival kits. They are inspirational, especially when I am lacking ideas. :-)
