Purchase Unused Gift Cards and Save

The following Everyday Savings Tip comes from, Misty:

I buy gift cards from a few different websites that buy unwanted gift cards and then resell them. Gift Card Rescue and Plastic Jungle are my favorites. Each store or restaurant has a set discount off of the value for all available cards. Most are 5-7% off, but I got some yesterday for 17% off!!! I then use the gift cards paired with sales and coupons to save even more money.

I recenly used a $10 of $50 coupon at Victoria's Secret and the gift card that I had gotten at 14% off. I saved about another $6.

Micheals is another one of my favorites. Pair the 17% off gift card with 40% off an item or 25% off yor total purchase and the savings really add up.

If I can find gift cards with an original value of an even dollar amount, I give them as gifts. You to have to remember to use the gift card to get the savings, but with most of them no longer having expiration dates or fees for inactivity, the benefits far out weigh the costs for me!
