I reuse my empty jars. I love the jelly jars to put my own jelly in as well as the tomato sauce or pickle jars to use to can tomato sauce and pickles. So I will reuse any jar that has that has a removable and resealable lid.
It saves buying jars and tops and they work just as well. I wash them, remove any labels and treat them as I do canning other jars and lids. Follow your canning book for proper canning methods and sterilizing jars as well as the top lids.
