Cut Cost On Dryer Sheets
The following Everyday Savings Tip comes from, Sharon:
I've been using this method for years! I purchase liquid fabric softener, keeping the previous bottle, then I divide the softener in half and fill both bottles almost full with water. It works just as good, it's just a little thinner and costs half as much per load.
Now for the dryer sheet. I use an old washcloth (I usually sew a corner down, to make sure I keep using the same one). Thoroughly dampen it with the softener, then throw into the dryer. I'm recycling & saving money at the same time. After a week or two, I soak the washcloth in hot, soapy water and rinse. It's as good as new.
Based on a bottle of Downy at Walmart on sale for $6.97 for 105 loads, I figure it costs about 22 cents per load for softener! Hope this helps!
