Valentines for Kids: Gumball Machine Free Valentine Card

Looking for free valentine cards? This kids valentine card with gumballs, a few supplies, and this free valentine card printable is easy for the kids to make by themselves!

Valentines for kids don't have to be all hearts and poems. Kids valentine cards that are funny, and that you can download the night before the school Valentines party, are even better!

This gumball machine valentine is perfect to take to school and share with classmates! This is perfect if you are looking for free valentine cards to print too!

This DIY gives instructions for a printable version to print and go (shown below). You can also cut out the face of the gumball machine with the gumballs poking through (shown above). The latter is more time intensive since it requires some cutting. Both are cute, and you know the kids really just want the gumballs part of the valentine anyway!

Directions for the Gumball Machine Valentine (cut out version):

  1. Use scissors to cut along the outer edge of the grey square border on each valentine.
  2. Slightly bend the center of the valentine where it says cut out this section under the grey line, and make a cut. Push the scissors through that center cut and begin to cut out that section.
  3. Write names in the “To” and “From” section.
  4. Place the valentine in a treat bag. Turn the valentine over face down and place 15 small gumballs inside at the top of the bag.
  5. Fold over just the very top edge only and staple three times (left, right and center).
  6. With the gumballs pushed all the up to the top, place your hand over the valentine and use your other hand to fold down the top section including the gumballs. The gumballs should now be directly behind the section that was cut out.
  7. Staple once on each side of the valentine (left and right) to secure the bag of gumballs in place.

Directions for the the Gumball Machine Valentine (not the cut out version):

  1. Cut along the grey square border and place the valentine in a treat bag filled with gumballs.
  2. Secure the bag by stapling the top or using a hole punch and running a ribbon through – tying a bow to complete.
  3. Remember to fill out the “To” and “From” section.

I hope you and your little valentines enjoy this cute printable!

This is so cute! Making these today while we’re out of school. Found the gum balls pretty cheaply at Target and going to Hobby Lobby to get the bags. Thanks for such a cute idea!

I am folding and staple top. Right now just fold. I am not crafty at all. But I cannot get my gungdrops to stay still. Unless they do after I staple it. Help
