Save Money on Clothes by Buying Ahead
The following Everyday Savings Tip comes from, Stephanie:
To save money on kids clothes I shop the clearance racks all year round and buy for the next year. If you really look and be patient you will find that clearance clothes at Kohls, JCPenney, Old Navu and Crazy 8 (those are the main stores I shop) are way cheaper than any second hand retail shop. I typically like to only shop on the 80% rack, if I see something I want on the 50%-70% racks I check back at the store each week and wait to see it on the 80% rack. 9 times out of 10 I will always score it on 80%!
I never pay more than $3 a shirt or $5 shorts or pants and it is all name brand! If its rock bottom prices I will buy up to 4 sizes bigger on shoes and other essential clothing that will never go out of style such as jeans, khakis and hoodies. I always thank myself when I need to switch out clothes for the season and I have a complete brand new wardrobe ready to go. No running out and paying full price for a pair of shoes or jeans when the weather suddenly gets cold like it did just now.
I got all of the clothes above at JCPenney for a grand total of 10.92. They were $0.97 each PLUS an extra 20% off for using my JCPenney card! That equals out to $0.78 a piece!
