How to Make Disposable Razors Last Longer
The following Everyday Savings Tip comes from, Stephanie:
Most disposable razors are about $5 or more for a pack of 4, and you only get 2 or 3 uses out of each individual razor before it goes bad and rusty. I have a way to make the razor last longer.
After I finish shaving, I rinsed the blade with water then sprinkle some baby oil over it, and its good as new the next time I use it. The baby oil keeps the blade from becoming rusty, and the little bit of rust is what usually causes you razor to become dull and cut you. I can use one razor for a whole month before I change it out, and thats just for sanitary reasons – it still works perfectly when I throw it out!
This could save you about $75 because if you buy one pack of 4 for $5 and it lasts you a week. You would spend $20 a month on razors alone! If make a pack of 4 last for months that's saving you $75!!

Wow… a 4 pack only lasts a week??? A 4 pack usually lasts me about 6 months!
Ditto the PP. I usually only change blades every season. And I’ve never had a problem with my blades rusting and I usually just keep them in the shower all the time.
Well no matter what anyone says… The advice is well taken and always welcome whether your razor lasts you a long time or not. Thank You for sharing you ideas and tips; always helpful!!
If you really want to save money, stop buying disposable razors which are thrown out and so is the money you spent to buy them. Why not buy a reusable razor that will last for years and just replace the blades as needed?
Reusable razors are also much better for the environment.
