Project Cost

This is a pretty inexpensive project that you can do with the kids during Christmas Break.  You can even make these up for school holiday parties, too!

You can grab a cake mix on sale for about a $ 1 along with a coupon.  The icing will cost around $1.50 or less depending on coupons that are available. You can find the cupcake liners at the grocery store, dollar stores or even at the craft stores with a 40% off coupon.  Your best bet is to purchase them after Christmas for the following year if you want a holiday theme.

Pretzels are super cheap and can be found for less than $2 a bag and you will only need to use about 15 pretzels for this project.  Also, you will need a small bag of Reese's Peanut Butter cups for the top of the ornament.  You can find a bag of candy for between $2.50 – $3 each.  However, you can always freeze them from Halloween if you find a great sale, too.

The entire project will cost you between $5 – $8 depending on what supplies that you already have on hand.  You can even use the left over pretzels and Peanut Butter Reese cups for other great Christmas treats.

I like to dip pretzels in white chocolate with sprinkles this time of year.  Also, you can bake peanut butter cookies in a small muffin pan and then put the Reese Cup in the middle after you pull out of the oven.  It is delicious and a family favorite!
