How to Make Homemade Dryer Sheets
The following Best Savings Tip comes from reader, Brigitte:
I have five old washcloths that I have cut in half. To make a homemade dryer sheet, I lay them out and put 2 tablespoons of liquid fabric softener on each and let them dry. Throw one in the dryer with a load of laundry and it acts just like a dryer sheet.
You can use a single one up to 5 times before you have to put more fabric softener on it. I have never figured out the exact savings but I only use 2 bottles of fabric softener a year as opposed to one a month. I never buy a fabric softener that is not on sale and I also use a coupon.
