Angel Lush Recipe
]
With all of these Kraft coupons, I have stocked up on lots. Especially Cool Whip. I wanted to share a recipe I absolutely love for you to use up some of the Cool Whip.
Angel Lush Cake
Adapted from Kraft Foods Recipe
Ingredients
2 packages of Angel Food Cake
Assortment of Fruit
Filling:
1 can of crushed pineapple
1 box of vanilla pudding
1 tub of Cool Whip
I purchase the pre-packaged rectangle Angel Food Cake from Kroger. I like this shape because you can cut slices to layer in the pan easier. I'm all about easier!!! Slice angel food cake into ¼-inch slices..
For the Filling:
- Drain the can of crushed pineapple.
- Dump the crushed pineapple into a bowl.
- Mix in the box of vanilla pudding. You can use any flavor of pudding. Depending on your fruit, you could match the flavors.
- Fold in cool whip.
Layer the Cake
- Place one layer of angel food cake slices on bottom of pan.
- Dollop filling to cover layer.
- Place layer of fruit.
- Repeat another layer of each.
The last time I made this, I used mandarin orange slices and raspberries. This flavor combination was yummy! I've also used strawberries and blueberries. You could substitute Fat-Free or Low-Fat Cool Whip and Pudding to make this lower in calories. I don't find it affects the taste at all since the fruit has a nice kick of sweetness!
I have also made this with the round angel food cake, cut in thirds layering the filling in between each layer. When I have done this, the filling just oozes out the side and doesn't look too hot. You could also make individual shortcakes with a dollop of filling and fruit on each.
Thanks to Tricia @ Onceamonthmom.com for these pics. She and her family came over for dinner a while ago and I made this dessert, which may be part of the reason she is expecting a baby. I can't guarantee those same results for you though…well, unless I made it :)

This sounds so good! Thanks for sharing, I’ll be trying it soon!
Oh, this look so yummy and refreshing! I have been looking for a fresh dessert that had lots of colors. Thanks for posting this. I will be printing the recipe and making it for our next church picnic!
I’ve made this before, and it is delicious. I was short on time and didn’t feel like meticulously slicing the cake into layers, so I just chopped it into chunks and made a trifle.
Delicious and easy, and that’s what I’m all about.
You ought to try the meatball skewers recipe in the latest food and family magazine, too. It’s good and quick. I added pineapples to mine.
Ohhhh this looks really good and I bet low in points. I’m going to have to try this.
I will try this soon!
Thanks,

Oh, I am so drooling. I have to make this.
Yum. I have everything for that in my house right now (have 4 angle food cakes in freezer from a managers special a couple weeks ago 50 cents each). I think my hubby and kids my have a Tuesday night treat. Thanks for sharing.
That sounds heavenly!!
I’ve used this topping on my WW friendly pineapple angel food cake, and it’s delish! To make the cake, just add a can of crushed pineapple to an angel food cake mix…add nothing else, not water like the box says. Bake in 9×13 pan in a 350 oven for about 30 minutes! Great plain too, but even better with the pineapple/cool whip/pudding topping!
Hi Ladies!
Please be sure to include the SIZE/AMOUNT that is needed for each ingredient in your recipes. Lots of cooks out there will have a hard time trying to figure out how to make your yummy recipes!

Hi K, I use the big tub for this recipe.
