- Mini Take-Out Boxes
- Strand of Twinkle Lights
That’s it! When is the last time you were able to create something fun with just two supplies? For our sample project, we found mini take out-boxes covered in a fun caramel and apples print. These were sold in a set of four for just $1 at Target. Single strand twinkle lights can be found in a variety of places including dollar, craft, and retail stores.
Thrifty Take-Out Box Lights Directions
- Open each mini take-out box and using scissors, snip off each handle. All you want to use is the box itself.
- Slide each take-out box over the bulb of your twinkle light strand. Under each box is a fold, and the bulb will fit nicely right in there.
- Adjust the box so it is snug around each bulb.
- It is suggested you put a box on every 2nd or 3rd box, leaving a few bare lights in between for extra sparkle.
Now all you need to do is decide where to hang your new party lights. These look so festive draped on a mantel or doorway. The boxes look like mini shades and add a custom look for less. So grab a bag of mini take-out boxes and give these thrifty lights a try!
