Santa Suit Cookie Pops

Fun Christmas cookies to make with the kids - Santa Suit Cookie Pops! These would be perfect for a classroom Christmas party edible craft too!

Are you looking for Christmas cookies? Well, these adorable cookies take a few steps, but your kiddos will love them! Get them to help out and it will be even more fun. These would be also be great to take for a classroom party and let each student decorate themselves.

While I do include a homemade cookie recipe below, you can totally semi-homemake these with the slice and bake from the grocery! After all, it's the Christmas season and I'm sure you have a billion other things you can be doing!

By the way, I used this wilton cookie pops pan, but you could just as easily shape the cookies yourself.

Santa Suit Cookie Pop Ingredients

Cookies

  • 1 cup, Butter (softened)
  • 1 1/2 cups, Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 tsp, Vanilla
  • 2 3/4 cups, Flour
  • 2 tsp, Baking Soda
  • 12 long Lollipop Stocks

Glaze

  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp, Milk
  • 2 Tbsp, Corn Syrup
  • Food Coloring

Icing

  • 1/2 cup, Butter (softened)
  • 1 Tbsp, Milk
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • Food Coloring
  • 12 Yellow Starbursts

Use our favorite long handle measuring spoons to measure and stir the ingredients together without much mess!

Santa Suit Cookie Pop Directions

  1. Cream butter and sugar.
  2. Add egg and vanilla and continue beating.
  3. Mix dry ingredients together and incorporate into wet mixture a litlle at a time.
  4. Press dough into pan, filling each about 3/4 full.
  5. Press stick into each cookie.
  6. Add additional dough on back as needed to cover stick.
  7. Bake in 400 oven 13 minutes or until lightly brown around edges.
  8. Let cookie sit in pan for about 5 minutes, then carefully run a knife around the edge of each pop to loosen.
  9. Cool on a wire rack.
  10. Mix powdered sugar corn syrup and milk to make glaze.
  11. Add red food coloring.
  12. Fill in face of pop in red glaze and allow to set at least 30 minutes.
  13. Add blue and yellow food coloring to make remaining glaze dark gray to black.
  14. Transfer part of this black glaze to the corner of a zipper bag and clip end to pipe edges of a belt.
  15. Allow to set for at least an 30 minutes.
  16. Fill in middle of belt with remaining glaze.
  17. Place Starburst in center as buckle.
  18. Allow to set for at least an hour.
  19. In a large bowl, cream the butter.
  20. Mix in the sugar one cup at a time.
  21. Beat in the milk mixing until fluffy.
  22. Transfer 1/8 of mixture to piping bag.
  23. Add red food coloring to remaining icing and mix until blended.
  24. Transfer icing to a piping bag.
  25. Refrigerate to firm.
  26. Pipe white at top of cookie pop to make collar
  27. Pipe a red ring around the rest of the cookie pop.

This recipe makes approximately 12 Santa pops.
