Take a Little Water with Your Lemon
The following Best Savings Tip comes from reader, Kiki:
The average family of four goes out to eat twice a week. If they order four beverages a time it could cost over $16 a week. Now that doesn't sound a lot but let's do the math:
Over a month $64
Over a year $832
By the time your child reaches 18 it's a staggering $14,976
So instead, ask for iced water…with lemon of course!

I always order water … and used to order it with lemon too. But then my husband ruined my revelry by saying that he read that most of the pre-sliced lemons at restaurants are tainted with germs (yucky ones).
So, there’s my 2.
I’d rather eat out less often, but get what I want when I do go out: quality over quantity. (The theoretical problem with restaurant lemons is that you don’t know if they cleaned the rind and you put that whole slice, rind and all, into your drink. The easly solution is to squeeze the lemon juice into your glass and leave the rind on your plate.)
