How To Make Eggnog French Toast From Scratch

Eggnog French Toast Ingredients

  • 1 loaf thickly sliced crusty country style bread or Texas toast, recipe will make 11-12 pieces of bread  
  • 1 ½ cups eggnog, store bought or homemade 
  • 4 large eggs 
  • 1 tablespoon light brown sugar 
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg  
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla or rum extract 

Serving options 

  • Powdered sugar
  • Maple syrup 
  • Fresh fruit 
  • Whip Cream 

How To Make Eggnog French Toast

  1. Preheat electric griddle to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a medium bowl whisk together eggnog, eggs, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and extract.
  3. Pour mixture into a 13×9 baking dish for dipping toast.
  4. Lightly grease griddle with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
  5. Dip bread into mixture and allow to soak for 1-2 minutes, let drain slightly and place on hot griddle.
  6. Cook several minutes on each side until golden brown, making sure the center of the toast is cooked.
  7. Remove and serve immediately with toppings of your choice.
  8. Store leftovers in refrigerator.
