Cut Dryer Sheets in Half
The following Everyday Savings Tip comes from, Norma:
Half a dryer sheet works just as well as a whole one. I've been cutting my dryer sheets in half for years, even the generic ones.
I haven't done this but I know lots of people that do and they get the same results! I sort of have a fabric softener problem though too. We use it in the washing machine, have a bar in the dryer and a dryer sheet. I know, admitted to the problem though :)

I have found that plain vinegar works just as well as fabric softner. Add it to your rinse cycle (in a downy ball) and even in your dryer on a rag or just spray it straight in there, even on the clothes (10-15 sprays). Softens clothes, greatly reduces static in dryer, and helps with the musty smell on towels. Once dry, no more vinegar smell. Cheap, better for you, and better for the environment.
I do almost the same thing with vinegar except that I use 1/3 fabric softener and 2/3 vinegar. This still gives my clothes a fresh sent and helps reduce liquid softener build up in my dispenser, plus it the vinegar helps with rinsing out more of the soap residue.
