Cut Cost by Not Buying Toys

The following Everyday Savings Tip comes from, Rebecca:

Toys abound in today's society. You can buy a cartoon inspired toy almost anywhere including the grocery store. I have found, however, that my daughter enjoys playing with sticks and stones as much as playing with any toy we have bought for her.

“Found” objects can make amazing toys and with some creativity can be turned into anything from math counters to animal friends (pet rocks are quite a hit..and can be painted to become any animal). I have seen sticks turned into colored pencils, wands, forts, and the possibilities are endless.

The cost savings for creatively using found items (safe and clean ones of course) over buying mass market toys is almost endless.
