Homemade Taco Seasoning Recipe
The following Best Savings Tip comes from reader, Sarah:
Our family loves tacos so much that we have taco night every Friday. Packets of taco seasoning at the store cost as much as $1, but I found a recipe for making your own taco seasoning.
Homemade Taco Seasoning Ingredients
- 4 tbsp, Chili Powder
- 3 tbsp + 1 tsp, Paprika
- 3 tbsp, Cumin
- 1 tbsp + 2 tsp, Onion Powder
- 1 tsp, Garlic Powder
You can keep it in a plastic container until you are ready to use it. Use about 2 tbsp of the mixture with 3/4 cup water and stir into the meat.
I haven't calculated the exact savings but I know it saves us money since we eat tacos so much. It is also healthier than what you buy in the packets because there is less salt and additives.

There are more ingredients in the picture than in the recipe. Am wondering what the piles of white are that look like they might be some kind of thickener. Thanks.
