Decorative Twine Letters DIY

These decorative twine letters are a great way to decorate your home on a dime and they look fabulous.  However, they will take a little bit of time but well worth the project.

Decorative Twine Letter Supplies

:: Scissors
:: Paper mache letters
:: Twine
:: Hot glue gun/glue
:: Ribbon
:: Ivory scrapbook paper

DIY Decorative Twine Letter Steps

{Step 1} Start on the top of the letter and begin wrapping the twine around the letter tightly and evenly. Use the hot glue sparingly to keep the twine even around the letters.

{Step 2} Once each letter is wrapped, begin cutting the scrapbook paper in spirals.

{Step 3} Roll the up spirals  inside out to form the flower.  Then, use the hot glue to hold it in place.

{Step 4} Attach the ribbon to the back of the letter to form  as a hanger.  Also, make a ribbon bow to accent the paper flowers.

Project Cost

I purchased the three  paper mache letters for around $5 and a spool of twine for approximately $2.50 after a 40% off coupon for each item.   I had the ribbon and scrapbook paper on hand, however, you can find them in the clearance or $1 bin at your local craft store.

If you do not have a hot glue gun, you can find a small one for around $3.  They are a must if you like to do any crafting projects and well worth the money.  If you had to purchase all of them materials, you could do this project for around $10.

This is a great way to save on decorating a family room or even a kid's bedroom without breaking the budget and will get lots of compliments from friends and family.
