Applebee’s Three Cheese Chicken Penne Copycat Recipe

Applebees Three Cheese Chicken Penne Copycat Recipe

Here is a recipe that I hope you will enjoy from Applebees.  Now you can not go wrong with whatever you get at this neat little neighborhood restaurant.

I tried this at home even though I changed up a couple of things.  I cut up the chicken and stirred it into the pasta, but you can leave it whole and just place it on top.

Copy Cat Applebees 3 Cheese Chicken Penne Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup Italian dressing
  • 3 cups Penne pasta
  • 15 oz jar of  Alfredo Sauce
  • 10 cherry tomatoes (sliced in half)
  • 4 basil leaves (sliced into very thin strips or chiffonade)
  • 1 clove Garlic (chopped fine)
  • 6 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese

Cooking Instructions

{Step 1}  Marinate chicken in Italian dressing for 30 minutes

{Step 2}  Mix together tomatoes, oil, garlic and basil.  Set aside

{Step 3}  Cook Penne as directed

{Step 4}  Grill chicken (or brown in skillet until done).  Then cut in 1 inch pieces.

{Step 5}  Drain pasta and stir in tomato/oil mixture

{Step 6}  Pour Alfredo sauce over pasta and stir in cut up chicken

{Step 7}  Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top and serve.

Meal Cost

When you add garlic bread and a salad, it is a very quick, inexpensive weeknight meal.  Instead of spending about $15 a person, (with drink and tip) you could spend about $8.50  for a family of four.  That's a savings in anybody's wallet.

  1. Looks delicious. I may be a little slow, but where are the three cheeses? I see Alfredo sauce and Parmesan. Is there another cheese in the sauce?
