Last weekend, I went with some friends to the MOPS Convention ^[2]. This year it was in Tennessee and we were within a reasonable distance from there to drive…so drive we did! And, by WE, that would be Susan, Me, Melanie, Dawn and Nicole.

I had such an awesome time at the convention! Well, the company was great, but the ministry and worship was just what I needed. There have been questions Ive asked myself lately – things people have even said to me – about being a mother and wife. These questions were asked in jist to us during the session to get a sense of how everyone felt. Im sure you have heard yourself thinking these things from time to time:

Im not a good mother or wife.
Should I continue to work?
Am I showing my friends that I care?
My house will never be clean. And, if I do have energy I dont want to spend it cleaning a house!
Am I the child that God wants me to be?

The last one really hit me. Because, honestly, without following the will of God, all else is pretty much done in vain. I want to be the mother, wife, friend, leader, blogger, etc that GOD wants me to be! No judgements or statements from anyone else really matter (obviously, I care what my husband thinks ;). Negative or judgemental comments may sting a little, possibly even hurt. At the end of the day, its between me and JC! I can do all things in Him cause he gives me the strength!

We heard several great artists while we were at convention. I am SO excited to have some new names to add to my ipod! A few of the artists that were present were Matt Redman ^[3], Christy Nockels ^[4] – both led us in worship. We also had concerts with Plumb ^[5], Matthew West ^[6] and Natalie Grant ^[7] (whom we missed).

If you ever have a chance to go to a Christian concert or event, PLEASE go! You will find yourself at the foot of the Cross with the Lord – right where He wants us! My friend, Jessica did a recap too – take a sec to read it ^[8] because it really hit me the same way it hit her.

Its so funny because when I read her recap, I had the same exact thoughts about the mundane that she references. We didnt even have time to talk about it afterwards so I just thought it was so funny that she and I shared the same thoughts on it! God speaks, ya’ll!!

I want to share one song today that I heard during the convention. Its from the artist Plumb (aka, Tiffany). That’s us with her in the center picture below. She is AWESOME! Has a rock edge – yeah, even Jesus likes to rock it out!! I love this song, and it will be on when I am working out.

So, can you do it? Can you be the mom, wife, mother, friend, lover of God? Can you follow His will? Listen to this song and you will be excited to do all of those things because He will give you the energy, help, strength and food to do it in His name!
