Then Sings My Soul Saturday: He’s My Son

When Andon was born, I made a cd of a few songs to keep in his CD player for his bedroom. There are several songs that make me laugh, cry, or just praise God for the blessing He gave us. This is one of those songs.

It's not always that you hear songs to sons. There were many times I would sit at his bed and pray for God to watch over him, and to give us the strength to manage through whatever roads we walked. God was full of grace and He delivered. And, I can tell you, I certainly did ask “Can you hear me” to God because with the many prayers going to Him with Andon's circumstances, I just wanted to make sure He could hear, ya know. God did…as He always does…and He knows what it's like to ache for a Son. After all, He gave His Son for us!

I have cried so many times over that song. I love it and it is very meaningful to our family as well. Our youngest 2 were in ICU for over a week. Uncertain times but sweet peace through the Holy Spirit! I could not agree more in regard to prayer. I love the book the power of a praying parent. it has changed my prayer life in regard to the children. i hope you have a wonderful saturday!

I have always loved this song and was able to introduce it a few years ago to my former college roommate whose 8 year old was dying of brain cancer. It’s such a precious song.

Ok. I didn’t TECHNICALLY listen to your song. I know it by heart though. I just wasn’t ready to cry. :)

I love this song. It is such a wonderful reminder that God has shared and understands EVERY hurt, even when we feel like he isn’t here, or that he can’t hear us.

    Thanks for posting.

That’s a very beautiful song. I did just now listen to it because I KNEW I’d cry and Saturday wasn’t a good day for that. And yeah, I cried at it’s beauty and power. It goes to show you how much presence and strength God has in our lives when we let Him take over. I also read your earlier posts about Andon’s struggles, and has a person who was born to wonderful parents who have always dealt with my illnesses so bravely, I really admire you and your courage and strength–but most of all your faith that no matter what happens in life, it’s God’s doing and He has a reason. Thanks for sharing all you share about your life with us.
