Hidden Valley Copycat Ranch Dressing

This homemade ranch dressing mix is quick to prepare with common seasonings in the spice cabinet. It's a copycat to the convenience Hidden Valley packets. Whether you’re mixing it up to top a delicious salad, for veggies, or for dipping some wings into, this homemade dry ranch mix is an inexpensive, easy, and tasty. Add a serving to the crockpot next time you make a roast, ranch flavor is delicious on it.

This mix is also a great way to avoid the undesirable ingredients in the pre-made packets (like MSG). For a fraction of the cost you can always have some on hand. The majority of seasonings are available at Dollar Tree, or most are likely to already be in your pantry, and powdered milk is easy to find at the supermarket. The Hidden Valley packets run around $2 each. Make your own and pay less than $0.50 per serving.

Homemade Ranch Dressing Mix Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup, Powdered Milk
  • 2 Tbsp, Dry Parsley
  • 1½ tsp, Dried Dill
  • 1 tsp, Dried Chives
  • 2 tsp, Garlic Flakes
  • 2 tsp, Onion Flakes
  • 2 tsp, Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp, Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp, Salt

Homemade Ranch Dressing Mix Directions

Whisk all ingredients together until well combined. Or put directly into storage container and shake very well.

To make the dressing:

  1. Add 1 Tbsp of Ranch Dressing Mix to 1/3 cup mayonnaise, greek yogurt or sour cream.
  2. Whisk in 1/3 cup of milk.
  3. Chill before serving.
