Easy recipe for homemade fruit leather, aka fruit roll-ups. These only use 5 ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups, Fruit*
  • ½ cup, Water
  • 1 Tbsp, Lemon Juice
  • ¼½ cup, Sugar
  • ½ tsp, Cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Set oven to its lowest setting, 140-150° if possible (mine only goes to 170°)
  2. Wash your fruit well. If using pears or apples, peel fruit.
  3. Chop fruit into small pieces.
  4. Place fruit and water in a large saucepan, bring to a simmer. Cover pan and allow to cook over low heat for 10-15 minutes, until fruit begins breaking down.
  5. Taste your fruit to determine sweetness since you can avoid the sugar all together if the fruit is sweet enough. Add sugar, if needed, 1 tablespoon at a time. Add lemon juice.
  6. Simmer for another 10 minutes, stirring until sugar is completely dissolved.
  7. Puree mixture in a vented blender, food chopper, or food processor until completely smooth.
  8. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper in one solid sheet so that it overlaps up the sides, pour puree on middle of parchment paper and spread with a spatula to 1/8” thickness.
  9. Place pan in oven for 8-12 hours until fruit puree has dried out and formed fruit leather. It will be smooth and no longer sticky.
  10. Remove from oven and peel fruit from parchment paper.
  11. Cut into strips. Place in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator.
