Fat Burnin’ Friday: One Day at a Time


I had somewhat of an ephiphany this week. Well, for me at least. You know, it took me around 7 months to lose the weight I have lost. And, honestly, I set mini-goals and focused on small wins rather than a huge task of 40 pounds (or even more when I consider my post-partum weight that was lost too).

I am logging many miles right now. The task seemed very daunting when I started a few weeks ago. I would see my training plan on Monday and just felt overwhelmed! I had to figure out something in order to stay motivated. Here's what I'm doing…take it one day at a time (just like the show…hahaha)! Now, I'm trying to look at each day and figure out how I can make that run the most effective possible. This is my new mindset. I'm not saying I'll be thinking of that every time I'm running my badunkadunk off, but I will be trying!

So, now that I'm logging all these miles I don't see the weight coming off any time soon. The good news is it didn't go up either (which I'm heard can happen too…BOO!). No weight change here but eventually I'll get to that goal just to say I got there!

How did you do this week? What challenges are you up against? I hope you're still at it! Just remember that you will thank yourself and your commitment come August when you have to wear that bathing suit!!!

    I have been really working on getting my weight off. I had hit a plateau and wasnt gaining but wasnt losing anything either. One day I talked to a personal trainer that attends our church. She gave me some great tips. She told me that I needed to work out with weights. Not just light weights that will do nothing but tone but heavier weights to help build muscle. So I now work out with 8lb weights (Im slowly building up) and I am really losing the weight alot faster. I feel great, I can see the difference in my body and on the scale. This has done wonders to keep my spirits up and keep me motivated. And even on those days that I over indulge, I have managed not to gain anything or even lose some. Because we all know that the more muscle you have, the more fat you will burn!!!

    I start my 10k training program on Monday, eeek!! But I’ve exercised EVERY DAY since Feb 14th! This doesn’t mean I’m always working out for a long time, but if all I can squeeze in is my 10 minute yoga legs workout, it counts!

    I’m also doing the Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred challenge hosted by Caitlin @ healthy tipping point. The DVD is challenging but a great workout for just being 20 mins long.

    I’ve just started a separate blog to hold myself accountable as I work on taking the weight off again. I’m finally healthy enough to go for it, but need to relearn a lot of the habits that helped me take it off the first time. Your Fat Burnin’ Friday posts have helped me be a little more focused, so thank you.

    I think it is great how you stay motivated to run and work out even though the weight is coming off slower now. But the amount you are running you are going to lose it eventually. I see you every so often in passing and I think you look great.
