Diet & Fitness Snack: Fat Burnin’ Friday

This has been one of the busiest weeks I've had in a long time. I've taught a few classes on saving using coupons, I entered the Wii Giveaway at ClassyMommy's place in hopes to Win a Wii (my snack on that is here (expired) – Please Vote!!), and I'm having lunch with some old co-workers today (oh, and I'll surely choose a healthy option :-).

But, in all of that (and it's not a whole lot, it's just more than I usually do), I lost the 2 pounds I gained last week! But, I didn't get in a single run. Wanna know what I did?…

I came into this week knowing I had to get those two pounds off. I took the comments you left last week and knew I had to refocus before these holiday meals! So, here's the plan I made for myself:

  • Drink More Water: I was getting very relaxed with the soda. And, Coke (the regular, not Diet or Zero) was starting to taste reeeealllly good. So, I only allowed coffee in the morning and drank water with every other meal or just plain throughout the day. Plus, my water intake hasn't been where it should be so I think that's why I noticed a result immediately.
  • Chose Better Foods: This seems like a no-brainer, but again I was getting lazy! So, I decided to go back to pre-portioned frozen dinners for lunch, with my water, and it helped. I also snacked on yogurt when I was getting a craving (but, I'll admit – a chocolate chip did touch my lips…and so did a no-bake cookie :-).
  • Stayed Busy: I didn't have time to think about snacking because this week was filled with more activity. And, this whole Wii Giveaway has me refreshing ClassyMommy's status page to see where I'm standing (as of writing this I'm still 3rd – please go vote, you might lose a pound just by doing it :-)

So, these changes were not out of a bottle, very minor and absolutely necessary to get those two pounds back where they belonged…which I guess is in the toilet or wherever they go…just not on my badunkadunk!

Oh, and I am going to get back on the treadmill next week. Our family planned on running a 5k the morning of Thanksgiving. I really hope my week goes good so I can participate – even our 9-year old wants to run it. I can't have him smokin' his momma!!

    Congratulations on losing the 2 pounds from last week. I lost my weight gain from last week too. I’m glad to hear that your son wants to run with you on Thanksgiving.

    I voted for you! Hopefully you will win. I’m eagerly awaiting the opening of ours on Christmas morning.

    Great job!!

    I have been doing really well myself. We have been so busy moving, buying a new home, then selling our old one, chasing around an almost toddler… I am nearly at my ‘goal weight’. Just 2 pounds to go!
    (I haven’t posted here in a while)

    I need to work on drinking more water as well. I have found snacking on raw fruits and veggies helps me a ton!
