Dayton Free Events: April 20-22, 2012

Here are a few things going on around town this weekend.

Saturday, April 21

PNC 2nd Street Market: Recycled Craft Creation @10am-1pm

Bring the family down and work on a craft project together.  The recycled materials and earth friendly supplies will be provided and you can share on a mural what you will be doing to help save the planet.

Recommended for all ages

Learning Express: Elmo Visits the Store

Elmo will be visiting throughout the day.  Bring your camera and capture the moment the kids meet their favorite Sesame Street character.  You can visit with him from either 12-1:30pm or 3-4pm.

Michael's: Body Art Make-It Take-It @1-3pm

Come out and try Body Art!  You can use the body paint to create art on your arms, legs, face and feet.  I think this one will be hit with the kids.

Recommended for kids ages 3 and up.  You may want to come early because this is while supplies last.

Sunday, April 22

Think TV: A Day in the Park with Super Why @12:30pm-2:30pm

Bring the family over to Indian Riffle Park in Kettering to meet Super Why. There will be activities for the kids to explore their world around them in the park.  We love Super Why in our house so this will be fun.

Bring a picnic lunch and make a day of it!

Garden Station: Earth Day Sunday Market @11am-3pm

Come down to the Garden Station located near the Oregon District for Earth Day.  There will be vegetable plants and flowers for your garden along with seeds for sale.  The schedule of the event includes:
12pm-Tour
12:30- Reading of “the Lorax”
1:30pm Seed Starting Workshop

Michael's: Earth Day Tote @1-3pm

You can head on over to your local store to decorate a tote bag in honor of Earth Day.  These are great for carrying library books, supplies and errands around town.

This is recommended for kids ages 3 and up.  This project is while supplies last.

Learning Express: Earth Day Games @2-4pm

Head over to play games with the staff at Learning  Express. This would be fun for kids of all ages.
