Cut Cost by Using Laundry Detergents Wisely

The following Everyday Savings Tip comes from, Stephanie:

I have a pretty hefty stockpile of laundry detergent. Most of the detergent aren't ones I would necessarily use if I didn't get them at rock bottom prices. I like to use Tide but great deals are hard to come by with that. I'm very selective when I use that laundry detergent.

I'm a little ocd when it comes to my laundry. I use Tide for whites and brights and our nice clothes, along with Snuggle fabric softener. For play clothes, pajamas and bed linens I use Purex or Whisk liquid, and use the Purex crystals which makes our clothes and sheets come out smelling fabulous! Then for jeans and towels I use the Purex 3-in-1 sheets.

I have been using this method since I started couponing 3 years ago, I do a LOT of laundry and this has always worked for me. A small 30 load carton of Tide will last me about 3 months. I also plan out my kids clothes according to what type of load I need more of: play clothes, whites, brights, darks, reds, etc. By doing this, I can always do a full load of laundry and get the most of our detergent, electricity, water and time!
