Cincinnati Canstruction, 3/8 – 3/20

Teams of architects, engineers and contractors have been busy designing and building some pretty impressive structures in various locations in downtown Cincinnati. They are built entirely from cans of food. You can see them now through 3/20/11. The food will all be donated to the Freestore Food Bank after the competition and display.

Lowe's Build & Grow Clinic: Basketball Hoop, 3/12 at 10 am

It's heavy into basketball season! Take your kiddos to Lowe's on Saturday to build a Shoot Around Basketball Game. Each participant will receive a apron, goggles, project themed patch and a certificate along with the project materials for Free. Register online. It's not too early to register for the 3/26 Fortune Teller Build & Grow Clinic too.

The Art of Food: Carnegie Visual & Performing Arts Center, 3/11-4/15

Another example of art inspired by and in some cases made with food is on display now at the Carnegie Visual & Performing Arts Center in Covington, Ky. The pieces on display now through 4/15 have been created by visual artists and top chefs from our area. Tickets are now on sale for tonight's (3/11) opening night reception. The exhibit will be Free to visit after opening night.

3rd of 6 Artswave Sampler Weekends: Various Events & Locations, 3/12

Many events being held all over the city are geared towards multiple ages. There is something for everyone! Here are a few jumped out at me. Check out the complete schedule for yourself.

  • Circus Mojo – Ludlow: Join the circus for the afternoon with fun for all ages from 3-5pm.
  • iSpace – Scarlet Oaks:. Robo-Art & the Art of Lego from 10am-2pm – Use a Lego Mindstorm Robot to create your own patterned art masterpiece. Sessions begin on the hour and reservations are required. Call 513-612-5786.
  • Oxford Community Arts Center: Madcap Puppets present Annie Oakley's Wild West Show, 11 am
