Tunes & Blooms | Free Concerts at the Cincinnati Zoo

My mom and Dylan are "hiding" behind the tulips.

April has to be my favorite time to visit the Zoo because that's when the tulips are in bloom.  The sea of color of many shades are incredible.  Enjoy more than 93,000 tulips plus many other varieties of flowers too.  It's definitely worth a trip to see them!

Every Thursday in April the Cincinnati Zoo hosts Tunes & Blooms.  Enjoy live music while surrounded by the beauty.  We didn't make it to the zoo for this event last year but are going to get there for sure on a Thursday soon.  I looking forward to family evening of music and my boys dancing.

Admission to the Cincinnati Zoo is Free after 5pm.   Some but not all zoo exhibits will be open after 5pm. Bands will play from 6 – 8:30 pm rain or shine. (Hopefully it will be shining!) Pack a picnic dinner to munch on during the concert.  The zoo's only requirements are that you not bring in any alcohol, straws or fast food type lids. Parking is $8 unless you have a zoo membership with parking and then it's Free.

The bands scheduled to play are:

  • April 7th – Magnolia Mountain & the Rubber Knife Gang
  • April 14th – No No Knots & Walk the Moon
  • April 21st – The Tillers & The Seedy Seeds
  • April 28th – Jake Speed and the Freddies & The Turkeys

I don't know any of these bands.  If you do, let me know what night we should plan to be there.

Don’t miss his Thursday night. Appeal to all ages. You will be singing and dancing before you know it, and you’ll be leaving with big smiles…guaranteed!

Ah bummer! I have a meeting this Thursday night. We’ll have to try next week instead. Oh my kids are off school on the 22nd so the 21st would be a great night to go!
