My favorite was a year when my own girls were small and the movie Prancer was out. There was a reindeer at the entrance that had a broken antler similar to Prancer. I had little doubters, but after seeing “Prancer” I had one more year of solid believers.

My favorite Festival of Lights memory was my littlest one’s first trip as an infant. It was very cold, so I wore him in the Baby Bjorn and then buttoned my coat with him inside it. We looked like a Mama & Baby Kangaroo in all of the pictures!

  • Randy Clark - November 16, 2011 @ 8:31 pm

Our girls are nearly grown but one of our favorite holiday traditions was to visit the Festival of Lights every Christmas season. For us it was usually part of a long day that included visiting Fountain Square and seeing the trains at Cinergy/CG&E.,

  • Kim B - November 16, 2011 @ 9:25 pm

I’ve only been once, when I was in college. (It was a long time ago.) I remember having fun with my friends and drinking hot chocolate. I’d love to go back with my husband and daughters.

My favorite memory from the Festival of Lights is from last year, November 27th, 2010.
I was there with a group of great friends and was totally surprised when my best friend in the whole world asked me to marry him!!!!!! We were in front of the big Christmas tree taking pictures and with everyone watching he got down on one knee and I of course started crying and jumping up and down!!! I will always remember that day and the festival of lights! We would LOVE to go back one year later with family!

  • Tammi Baumgartner - November 18, 2011 @ 11:09 am

I have lived in this area for 13 years now and have always
wanted to take my family to the PNC Festival of Lights but never could coordinate
schedules….but now we are on 1 income so haven’t been able to
afford it! We would LOVE the opportunity to go!
    Thanks for the opportunity!

  • Francesca Gould - November 18, 2011 @ 3:51 pm

I remember taking kids I babysat for and loving it. I remembr thinking that the only thing that would make it better is if I was building special memories with my own kids (I couldn’t wait to be a mommy). Many years later and I now have 2 beautiful children of my own. We have not been yet and I CANNOT wait to take them!!!!

  • Jennifer Knopf - November 18, 2011 @ 9:51 pm

I remember my Dad taking me to the festival of LIghts when I was younger, after he passed away when I was 17 I have not been since, but this year my son is four and our family is coming into town from New York and I would love to take them.

  • Jane - November 19, 2011 @ 11:34 pm

I went to the Festival of Light when I first came to UC as an international student more than 10 years ago. Some generous people donated tickets to new students like me: we had a great time and enjoyed the light and animals. Now I live in the east coast and know some families in Cincinnati never have the chance to go. I would wish these families have this opportunaty!

  • Tonya H. - November 20, 2011 @ 4:25 pm

Going to the Festival of Lights was a tradition of my family’s for years growing up. I moved away and really missed that tradition. This year we moved closer and we would love to take our 16 month old son and my family for the first time. I would love to see all their faces! My son seeing all the lights and animals for the first time and my family enjoying their only grandson.

  • Tricia - November 21, 2011 @ 10:14 am

My favorite memory would be getting engaged there! With all the lights, the Christmas music, and it was actually snowing lightly. It was also there that we were enjoying watching our 3yr old son’s excitement and I told my husband we were pregnant with our second child! Great memories.

  • Kathy Watson - November 22, 2011 @ 12:57 pm

I always loved looking in the little houses w/ my daughters when they were young. I also really enjoyed the lights around Swan Lake. The greatest thing was enjoying it w/ my kids, parents, and sisters and their kids. I would love for my now grown daughters to recapture that joy.
