LEGO KidsFest Family 4-Pack Giveaway! {Ended}

If I had to pick a list of words … any words … that would bring a smile to my boys' faces LEGO would have to be at the top.  My middle son especially. Words can't express the degree to which he loves his Lego bricks.  Hours upon hours have been spent building sets, building his original creations and taking them apart to build something new.

So you can imagine the excitement in my house when we heard that LEGO KidsFest is coming to Cincinnati!  LEGO KidsFest will bring hands-on, educational, LEGO building fun for the whole family to the Duke Energy Convention Center March 23 – 25.

Participants of all ages can enjoy all that LEGO KidsFest has to offer. There will be plenty of Construction Zones for building with LEGO bricks as well as LEGO DUPLO bricks.  Be inspired in the LEGO Model Gallery with 40 life-sized models made entirely of LEGO bricks.  Watch live demonstrations by LEGO Master Builders (how cool would that job be?!?).  Challenge a friend or family member to a game in the LEGO Game Arena and a race on the Race Ramp. Plus so much more!

Here are some fun LEGO facts that I think are pretty interesting:

  • About 7 LEGO sets are sold every second.
  • Over 4 billion LEGO minifigures have been produced in the last 30 years.  That's over 12 times population of the United States.
  • Six eight stud-LEGO bricks can be combined 915 million ways.  (Really?)
  • Children around the world spend over 5 billion hours a year playing with LEGO bricks.

LEGO KidsFest will be in town for 5 identical 4 1/2 hour sessions. Tickets can be purchased at OR …..

You could win tickets!! LEGO KidsFest has offered us a Family 4-Pack of tickets to giveaway to one of you.  The tickets will be for the 4pm-8:30pm session on Friday, 3/23/2012.

Legos means plastic bins full of gray and gray and more gray pieces. Gray pieces build Star Wars ships and that is what Legos means for my three sons.

I’m already going on Friday and Sat Morning but I’d love to be able to take a few friends. Now if I ever get the time and money, I would love to build an AT-AT that stands about 6 feet tall. (Moving it to show off would be a nightmare, but that’s an issue for down the road).

Legos to me means qaulity family time. No t.v.,iPads, computer, just good play time using our imagination and having fun!

  • Rebecca P - March 08, 2012 @ 4:31 pm

When my son turned 5 we had a LEGO themed birthday party, he has been enjoying legos since he was three and inherited his dad’s 3 full storage tubs of legos. My son builds the legos according to the directions, then takes them apart and builds the most imaginative contraptions, then takes the time to detail every part of his build and purpose with total excitement.

  • Kathleen - March 08, 2012 @ 5:51 pm

I have 3 boys who all love legos. They love to make creative spaceships, pirate ships etc…. This would be Legopalooza for them! I don’t think they would know what to do first. I have no problems with them playing with legos. Great for my kids to be creative. Just hate when I vacuum those darn things up!

  • Kristie - March 08, 2012 @ 10:37 pm

My daughters would love this and my Husband. He still has his legos from his childhood that the girls and him like to make creations with. Thanks! Savings Lifestyle.

Legos bring out the imagination in everyone who plays with them! You get those blocks and right away start trying to build your dream house, or dream robot! It’s just so fun, and it brings out the “child” in everyone!

Both of our children are huge LEGO fans. At seven and nine we have encouraged free play with them and have provided more of the basic brick packs so that they can build using their imaginations. They definitely have some of the kits as well, that allow them to follow the directions and build their toys, but I love to see what their imaginations create. They are always so excited to share their new creations and want to take a picture before tjhey take them apart and start again!

Legos are amazing, me and my kids can play with legos for hours. My 4 year old will build me a princess palace, and he gets a fort to save me. My 8 year uses legos to build Pokemon and Pokemon battles. They are just a great family acitivity that we love to do.

  • Kimber - March 13, 2012 @ 5:35 pm

I have 2 boys (ages 5 & 4) who would love to get their hands on the smaller lego pieces but their 22 month old sister stops them from doing that. They would love to have time to play without her dragging them crazy!!!

  • Chrissy - March 13, 2012 @ 9:09 pm

Lego building has taught my son how to follow directions, focus, complete a task, patience, and the value of a dollar. Very important lessons for an 8 year old!
