A Mom’s Thoughts…

Andon and I were able to get get outside and walk today (rather than him being in the exersaucer while momma ran on the treadmill). It it so beautiful here in Ohio – but it's going to be like 60 tomorrow, gotta love this Ohio weather! So, as we were walking along, here were a few thoughts that came to me…

  • Isn't it funny how moms turn into mean momma bears when someone tries to touch their young. I'm the same way when people offend or hurt my friends. I'm all like, “Oh NO you didn't!!” And, you have to pronounce that di-n't. Leave out the D sound – it says so much more fierce!
  • If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all! Easier said than done sometimes, I know :-)
  • Would I be satisifed if I could lose weight by eating chips and ice cream? As much as I dread the exercise sometimes, I don't think I would. I like the feeling of accomplishment when I see the results. And, the beautiful sunshine and flowers in bloom aren't as magnificent watching on HDtv (even with a Starbucks)!
  • Speaking of Starbucks, since I haven't had one all week, I need to stop by and get me a Venti Nonfat Mocha Stirred No Whip Extra Hot Light Foam (whew – that's a mouthful)! I'll admit, sometimes I get embarassed ordering such a high maintenance drink :-)

And, do you ever wake a sleeping baby? I say “Heak NO!” I'm typing this snack as I watch my precious Andon sleeping peacefully after our walk – and thanking God for him and the blessings in our life!

    Hey, thanks for stopping by.

Where are you in Ohio? I’m in Lebanon, NE of Cincy.

You know, I like your comment about being a representation of God to those kids who come by your house. I do find myself chanting, “love thy neighbor,” a lot!

It’s sad that in this day and age I worry that someone’s kid is going to go running back to their mom and say, “Mrs. Thomas made me say sorry,” or “Mrs. Thomas told me I needed to say please and thankyou.

It’s just the basic good manners and respect for adults is what kills me – and the fact that so many parents live in Not MY Child-Land when they’re faced with the reality that yes, your child needs some better guidance on how to treat others in this world.

Loving the weather in my part of Ohio, too!

Smiles, and I’ll be back soon!
