Blog Network: Syndigo Networks

I joined Syndigo Networks last month (after seeing it on Kelly's site, dailystab.com) and wanted to share the information with you!

Syndigo Networks is an ad network to earn money. There are several channels in the network for you to choose to promote. When you apply, you can choose the network you want to join. You can appy here. I am currently running The Today Show, as you can see with the box in my right side bar.I applied and was accepted immediately.

Here is some general information about Syndigo Network:

CPM Rate

The current rate is $.55/CPM. That means, for every 1,000 pageviews, you receive $.55.

Ad Location Requirement

You must place your ad within the top 600 pixels of your site.

Ad Sizes

There are two ad sizes with the video boxes: 160 x 865 and 300 x 500.

CPC Ads

There are Sponsored Link boxes/widgets you can also embed onto your site as well. I am not running any of the widgets currently. Syndigo refers to these ads as RPC (Average Revenue Per Click) boxes. Essentially, you only get paidif someone clicks on them (kind of like google ads).

Traffic Requirements

No minimum pageviews traffic requirements. Yeap, I said it :) They only require that your site be family friendly. So, this means maybe those with a smaller following can be in too! That is so nice because even if you earn a little, it's still something!

Payment Terms

They are on a net 45-day payment schedule (or 45 days after the last day of each month). You must have a minimum of $50 in your account to receive a payment. Payments are held until that balance is met. Payments are mailed by check. I haven't received my first payment yet since it hasn't been 45 days. Also, you will be required to complete a W-9. That is a standard requirement since earnings are considered income.

So, my general thoughts. Well, obviously I like them well enough since you see them! But, the CPM is not great especially with the required ad placement (top 600 pixels is prime ad space). Most ad networks that type of ad location pay anywhere from $2 – $5/CPM. So, yeah there's quite a bit of difference.

I choose to run the network to diversify my blog income. The ad sizes work with my current design (I'm using the 300 x 500 ad/video box). I think the ads are actually attractive. I am only comfortable with the ad placement requirement because I can run them with my other ads. Since I'm still in compliance and I can earn, I'm OK with the requirements.

Is Syndigonetworks for you? I haven't seen any inappropriate ads in The Today Show Network. Since I'm a viewer of the show (like.as in. everyday), Ifeelit's a match for me too. But, it may not be for your site and you would ultimately have to make that decision.

  1. Hi! Thanks for posting this. I saw your tweet yesterday and I was waiting for your post. I have a new hobby blog – blogging about So You Think You Can Dance. I want to put ads up, but I can’t wait the 90 days to join other networks or to grow my audience. The TV show will be almost done by then! Because it is a hobby I don’t want to spend a lot of time selling my own ads. I threw up some google ads but I am not confident that they will make more than a cup of coffee.

This ad network seems okay, but I am not sure how much money I would make on a low traffic blog with the CPM being so low. Maybe it would make the same as Google Ads. So I am trying to decide which one would be better.

I am definitely going to be looking into this! thanks for sharing all the details! :)

  2. Thanks for posting this! I saw your tweet yesterday and I was anxious for this post. I just started a hobby blog (blogging about So You Think You Can Dance http://www.sytycdtheblog.com.) I don’t have the time to wait for my audience to grow before I can join another network, because the TV show will be over by then. I don’t want to spend the time selling my own ads, since this is just a hobby and not a real money making site. I threw up some Google Ads so I can at least afford a coffee from my blogging earnings.

This network looks great, but the CPM is so low! I am not sure if it would make more than Google Ads. Yesterday (my first day up I only had 574 impressions and made a whopping .47) I would have made half that with this network.

I am not sure which is better. Thanks for sharing the info. I am really going to to consider it.

    1. Amanda, yeah, it is low which is why I said it’s not the best. But, since they are very accepting of all blogs, you can always try it out and see how you like it. The worst thing you do is delete them. But, at least you tried to see what works for you/your site!

  3. Okay, so I have been thinking about doing this for a while, but I don’t know if my blog is big enough for this kind of thing. I don’t do giveaway’s and it is mostly read by friends and family, but I would love to do this. HELP!! I am so confused. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Becky, I think it’s really up to you. I’m going to include an entire section during my Begin to Blog series. But, with this even if it’s only read by your family/friends it’s still something! I guess it’s just something you have to decide if is best for you at this point.

  4. I think I want to go in this direction. I look forward to your upcoming series!

    1. Kelly – mwuah back atcha!!! You were so nice to share that info with me!
