Woodland Fairy Garden

Fairy gardens are a fun way and easy craft for all. Children and adults alike seem to enjoy them, as they are tiny worlds created in the smallest of spaces. You can make your own fairy garden using a few simple and even inexpensive supplies. Take a look at how you can make a fun and frugal woodland fairy garden that will beckon to fairies to come and visit!

Woodland Fairy Garden Supplies

  • Canning Jar
  • Dried Moss
  • Rocks
  • Cotton Mushrooms
  • Craft Glue

We were able to find all of these supplies at our local craft store. You will also find a large variety of other miniature items you may wish to tuck into your garden. We kept the sample garden simple and rustic, which is a great idea if this is the first fairy garden you have constructed.

Woodland Fairy Garden Directions

  1. Begin by placing some moss into the jar. Take a spoon and press the moss down so it is firmly packed into the jar.
  2. Sprinkle some rocks in. We used small crafting pebbles but you can use ones from your own yard if you have them.
  3. Add a little glue to the stems of your mushrooms. Glue the stems to the various pebbles. This is easier than trying to glue the mushrooms to the moss to make them stand in place.
  4. Place the mushrooms and the rocks they are attached to in the jar. You can finish off the garden with a pinch of glitter if you wish or leave as is.

Your fairy garden is now ready to display! You can always add pieces to it as spring turns into summer, making it a season long project you are sure to enjoy!
