Women of Faith

Us with Mandisa at Women of Faith

So, since this is my blog, I like to share snippets of my life – seems logical, right? I wanted to share about my experience last weekend while attending Women of Faith.

First, if you've never heard of Women of Faith, check it out! This was my first year going and I was blown away at the speakers and ministry we received. Honestly, I saw the line-up and didn't recognize many of the speakers. But, those were the very evangelists I loved the most: Patsy Clairmont, Marilyn Meberg, Sheila Walsh to name a few.

And, of course as an AWESOME benefit to this conference, you get to hear some amazing, talented Christian artists. Lucky for us, Sandi Patty, Steven Curtis Chapman and Mandisa were on this tour stop. Woo Hoo!

Sandi Patty has the most amazing voice. Honestly, I'm not old enough to remember her (yes, I'm that young) but I heard about her challenges. What a gift and testimony she has to share! And, if you know Steven Curtis Chapman's story, hearing the songs, Cinderella and Yours just took on a different meaning with the year he has had. So terribly sad, but he is still praising the Lord – AMAZING!

And, Mandisa – what can I say! You have probably heard her from American Idol fame, but her testimony is what got me. Yeah, I mean, girl can sang, but the spirit that she has just oozed out of every single pore, even with our nose bleeds seats. Just beautiful, and she's lost 80 pounds – HELLO! I only wish I had time to ask her some tips. We were kinda rushed with getting that picture above (aren't my BFF's beauties too).

I think conferences like this are great to go rejuvenate and be focused on God. Even in an arena full of 16,000 people – His spirit is big enough to be present and touch each one of us. God is pretty amazing, huh? I learned so much that I plan on applying in my faith walk and my daily relationships – so much more than I can begin to share here. And, I loved doing this with my girlfriends – it was the best part even if we did miss our husbands and kiddos ;)

BFF's are the BESTEST

I remember the first year I went to WOF–I had no idea who any of the speakers were, and I just started listening to Christian radio, so I wasn’t familiar with many of the singers, either. I walked away so rejuvenated and refreshed. It is a great time to get away from the norm of day to day life. One of the only times in my life that I’ve been gushing out tears one minute and laughing hysterically the next!

    This year marks my 4th year–and I can’t wait! I can’t wait to hear everyone’s testimony’s and stories.

The pic with Mandisa really turned out great. She is so beautiful! We didn’t look too bad either. :) It was a great time to focus on God and really be reminded on how WONDERFUL he is. I love that we can experience his love together. I’m already looking for a couples conference. Can’t wait til the next one.

Was this the one in Columbus? I was there!!!! I didn’t get to see Sandi though. Was she there Friday morning or something? We hated that we didn’t see her….and I missed seeing Anita Renfroe…..she is hilarious! We have gone to WOF for years now, we have lost track of how many. Wish I could have met you.

Kim, really??!!! Yes, it was in Columbus! We went for the Friday Feature too and it was really great! The speakers that morning were Steve Arterburn, Marilyn and Sandi. It was such an amazing conference. My first WOF and I definitely plan on going to many more! I knew a few others who were going but there were so many people that it was next to impossible to find anyone :) Maybe next year!!!

Oh, I so want to attend one of these. I just don’t really want to go by myself, I guess I’ll break down once and go anyway.

Some of you may already know all this information, but please bear with me, as I am posting this for women who don’t know.
Hello to all of you! I was very happy to see posts from women who have attended a WOF conference. I attended the one in Indianapolis in August of 2009. It was just as wonderful as I expected. In fact, it was even better than I expected!

At that conference, I decided to become a group leader for the first time. That means I committed to selling 50 tickets for the Indy conference for 2010. For being a group leader, I (along with about 2,000 other women) received a free weekend in Dallas, Texas on January 14-16, 2010. The WOF team, for the first time ever, invited all group leaders from all over the country, to join them for an event called ALL ACCESS. It was a conference to teach all the group leaders how to promote and sell their tickets, how to collect payment, how to coordinate transportation and hotel reservations, and basically everything we need to know to sell our tickets. We also received our seat assignments, and we get priority seating!!! In the past, all of this information was provided to the group leaders by mail.

Needless to say, this was a wonderful event!! The WOF team was there, of course. We had a pj party with Anita Renfroe. We also got to meet the Porch Pals and get pictures taken with them. They ate meals with us, too. What a great time we had.

At the conference, I again committed to sell tickets for the year of 2011. But instead of selling 50 tickets, I signed up to sell 75. The conference to teach us how to sell our tickets again will be held in February of 2011, in Nashville, Tennessee. I would urge each one of you to sign up to be a group leader. You would receive an all-expenses paid trip to Nashville. All expenses paid included plane ticket, hotel, and all meals. Also they do all the reservations for you. They also give out great gifts. You would not be disappointed if you were to become a group leader.

If anyone is interested in tickets for the Indianapolis conference in August this year, or would like more information on becoming a group leader, please contact me.
