Sonic the Hedgehog Erector Set Giveaway {Closed}

I remember when Sonic came to be. I was in junior high, I believe. I wasn’t a huge gamer but it was a fun game (that I never did master).

Well, Sonic is now coming out with toys so your little gamer can enjoy offline fun! The new Sonic the Hedgehog Erector collection features both Sonic and Knuckles, their signature speed racers, and the gaming environments you may already be familiar with.

There are many scenes to re-enact with this set, just like from the video games. The Sonic the Hedgehog Erector set includes one set of tracks that can be arranged into several different combinations. The set includes more than 165 plastic parts, decorations and stickers to customize the cars and tracks.

You can play with each set individually or combine them for even more chaos and fun. Each set is sold separately but by adding them together, your kiddos will be able to create a bigger stunt park! I love these types of toys that you can add onto – way more creativity can be involved without spending a whole lot more.

While I’ve mentioned Valpak a few times before, I want to share again why Valpak is a great resource to help you save. They have several great FREE local coupons to print. You can sign up for e-mail alerts and receive emails directly about any new coupons that come available in your area.

You can also download the Valpak app. I did last month and it is pretty cool. If you have an iPhone, you can save coupons to Passbook even. I love the paperless technology and the app has great coupons inside to help me stay that way. It saves time since I can find coupons on the go, and helps me save money with the coupons but also from not printing a coupon if I don’t have to.

The app will come in handy too as we visit family during the holidays. While we don’t travel far, I still plan to see what coupons are available as we travel to help us save on our short trip. Plus, they will have tips and tricks for shopping (and surviving) this holiday season on their special Holiday page.

I’ve always told my husband that if we reduced an expense, the cable would go first. The issue with doing that during football season is that you miss many of the games that are offered on basic cable. Or, if you can get them, the channel is all fuzz. Not with The Leaf Indoor HD Antenna!

It has “omnidirectional” reception, meaning that it should ideally pull in stations from all directions.
It can be easily hidden behind a picture frame, cabinet or bookshelf without affecting reception.
You do not need power for The Leaf to function (although the TV must be powered on).
According to testing, it is the best performing indoor antenna on the market currently.

I will be packing our boys’ lunch a lot more this year. So when I talked to Easy Lunchboxes about reviewing their products, I was stoked to get to have on of our school items marked off our list. And, several other reasons too.

Easy Lunchboxes are just that – easy. Created by Kelly (also author of the new book, Easy Lunch Boxes – Cooking with Trader Joe’s Cookbook), they were created with simplicity in mind. And her vision is helping many parents pack healthy meals for their favorite lil’ people. And save money.

Our school lunch is $2.30. Multiply that by roughly 280 days of the year the boys are in-school. Times that by 3 children and the $2.30 lunch price and that that is around $2,000! That’s quite the chunk of change, huh? Well, knowing our boys would have basic school lunches like pretzels with cheese (how that is even a suitable lunch, I’ll never know) or be lured to purchase those extra snacks, I decided to pack their lunches again this year. Well, I say “I” but it will really be them.

I had our boys make a list of items they would want on a regular basis to be in their lunches. From that, I created bins in the house that they can choose one from. They can obviously make a sandwich (or we can wrap up some leftovers) for them to eat the next day. I’ll be putting all of those items neatly in our Easy Lunchboxes pack and cooler and they can eat a much better meal and momma saves money – we all win!

Threadless is Fashionable for Back to School (Giveaway) {Closed}

I’ve mentioned before, I typically only purchase our boys one new outfit for going back to school. They always wear it on the first day of school too. I like to find cute and creative stuff for the boys, as long as they will let me (T is quickly having a fashion sense of his own though…). At least I can shop Threadless to find cute stuff for Andon and Caleb!

Awesome Strawesome Giveaway! {Closed}

I’m gonna cut right to the chase. Have you heard of Strawesome? They are seriously AWESOME with a capital “A”! I use straws on a daily basis. I find that I actually drink more water when I drink through a straw. But I don’t like the skinny straws so I’ve been spending more money on the wider straws (similar to the size of those at McDonald’s – they hold more in one straw).

My plastic straw-buying days are over thanks to Strawesome!

Strawesome straws are reusable glass straws. If you were like me when I first heard of them, I thought I’d get a drink and a shard of glass. Not the case (duh, that would be really bad). Strawesome straws are hand-made in the company’s Michigan workshop. Their motivation for making these awesome straws came from a commitment to health with less exposure to toxins in plastic straws. Strawesome straws are toxin-free – there are no BPA’s or phthalates!

Another bonus in using Strawesome straws – you are saving the environment! I cannot even begin to think how many straws I’ve used over the past year alone. I know they all end up in a landfill. Now I can save the environment and have the perfect straw for drining my water, and smoothies. Since the straws are wider, you can sip your smoothie or milkshake without sucking your brains out (or what feels like it sometimes with the skinny straws). Nice visual, eh? :)

These are going to be great to keep in my purse for going to all of the extra-curricular activities. They will also be a great gift for my friends and nieces/nephew who have absolutely everything! There are so many cute designs to choose from so there is something they will all like. Plus, the younger ones will think that having their “own” personal straw is pretty cool.

So you definitely don’t want to have unauthorized access to your connection since you will have to pay for it! You can actually see websites that are being visited, block unwanted devices and receive automatic email alerts when unauthorized connections are attempted.

Another thing that is important to note about the Cloud Router 2000 is the speed. It provides high-powered dual-band wireless connectivity–up to 600 Mbps–for great HD video performance. With so many people using Netflix (get 30 days FREE right now), Amazon Prime (for free movie streaming) and Hulu Plus (currently try 1 week FREE), you can save on your cable bill and have the same television viewing experience via your computer streaming the shows!

It is that time again to get the kids ready for back to school. We have been purchasing new supplies, backpacks, clothes and even shoes for my boys. Our oldest son is officially a teenager today – he is 13! Where has the time gone?! I won’t lie, there are some days I want to scream! And when it comes to his teeth, I often feel that way.

He hasn’t always been the best with his dental hygiene. As a matter of fact, he has had more cavities than I can even remember! Lucky for us, his teeth are nearly perfect other than that with no need for braces. If he did need braces, I would consider Invisalign Teen as an option for him first (especially since I am considering Invisalign for myself).

The Invisalign product is a clear plastic aligner that straightens teeth – no metal braces! The new Invisalign Teen product combines the benefits of the Invisalign system with new features like blue Compliance Indicators that fades as the aligner is worn.

While I haven’t worn Invisalign personally, I know people who have and they have shared their positive experience. They are comfortable and, of course, clear. I think being that they are clear, many teens will feel less self conscious about wearing them over traditional metal braces. Fundanoodle Seriously Fun Giveaway! {Closed}

My baby starts Kindergarten this fall. I can hardly believe that is even remotely possible.

I’m in denial.

Completely.

Andon attended pre-school for the past two years and he learned a ton! He’s going to a sitter this summer and is learning even more! I’m amazed when I see him writing his name, and repeating numbers and letters back to me. In reality, yes, he should be doing this. But, to me it seems like he should still be a wee baby.

I love using reusable bags. I don’t do it because it’s the “thing to do” or to help the environment (although I’m glad it does!). I like how my groceries are packed secure in the bag. I know that the jars I purchased won’t fall out of the flimsy plastic bags from the store.
