Soul Snack: Then Sings My Soul Saturday

We sent off our Operation Christmas Child boxes last week. As we got our boxes together, our oldest son included a letter to send off with his box. He's hoping the boy who receives his box will write back. As I thought about those kids getting these boxes, it makes me think long and hard about God's plan in the lives of those kids. Who will they become? Will they know that we really do love them even though they are thousands of miles away? Do they know who Jesus is and what He did for us? And, of course, our kids want to make sure they love their OSU Buckeyes hats (gotta get some Buckeyes stuff in there :-).

You may know this song all too well. When Steven Curtis Chapman lost his little girl months ago, he re-wrote the last verse. I can't even imagine the pain his family felt but then to write something so profound is amazing – obviously a strength that only God can provide. This song makes you stop and realize we are God's – everything is His – no matter where we are. That message gives me such confidence and hope in knowing I have a Father in Heaven, actually two: a heavenly Father and an earthly father whom is walking the streets of gold today. I am God's child and so are those kids who will get those boxes we sent.
