Soul Snack: Then Sings My Soul Saturday

Well, last weekend I was MIA from this meme because I was worshipping at an Extraordinary Women's Conference. It was so amazing. I came away from that conference with a desire to be a better wife, mother, and sister in Christ!

One of the singers present was Richie McDonald, the former lead singer of the country group Lonestar. He has departed from the group and has now gone on to a solo career as an inspirational/christian artist. I was familiar with many Lonestar songs, and he sang a few of the hits (which he wrote), but the song I'm sharing today, from his new cd, brought my heart to a halt.

As moms, I think God gives us passes that allow us to get through each day without that long, in-depth devotional. We can't get to our prayer closets because we're dealing with kidlets and life (laundry, dishes, dinner). We're all in different seasons of our lives and walks.

A verse in the song says, “Sometimes I forget to stop and bow my head…and remember I have been blessed.” This reminded me that I do need to find more time to just praise God for who he is and all the blessings he has given to me each day!

You know, when I first became a believer, I thought that praises were reserved for church. I didn't really change that thought until we went through something we had absolutely no control over. That experience had me praising and thanking God every minute I could think to!

At the end of the day, it is His Way, His Plan, His Grace that gets us through each day. Finding the time to thank God is what my soul needs because I am blessed…thank you, Lord!

I am so blessed and take so much for granted. I don’t thank Him near enough. Thanks for this beautiful reminder.
