Save Money on Mealtime Proteins

The following Everyday Savings Tip comes from, Angela:

Often I found that I was spending too much of my weekly grocery budget on meat at our local grocery store. My family has grown up and continues to be “meat and potato” folks.

I happened to occasionally catch 20 to 50% off fresh cut meats from the local grocery store meat department. After talking with the manager I have been able to plan my weekly shopping around the mornings that they mark down the meat. Frequently these products are approaching the sell-by date. I can prepare and freeze many items the same day or next from my shopping trip.

I meal plan around these discounts and have saved my family approimately 40% on all the meat that my family consumes.
