Practical Christmas Gifts to Save

The following Everyday Savings Tip comes from, Maria:

Pay attention to the things your family and friends are into. This may sound like a “duh” statement.

I was talking to my cousin about what she wanted. She's too old to like toys so I asked her if she would like a quilt. She said she has 3 (she's 13 so she doesn't need that many). I got her into sewing about 6 months ago and we talk about it together a lot. I finally had the idea to suggest sewing materials and she said it was the best idea ever.

I give her stuff that I dont need or like anymore all the time and she always gets really excited. This translates to me as an adult. I get things all the time that I like “ok” but if you wanted me to get super excited about a gift just listen to what I talk about.

I like to cook a lot, I like to save money, I like to sew. All of these things is what I talk about. If you got me materials, it would save me money too. I would freak out from excitement lol.

I would probably be more ecstatic if you bought me flour and butter than I would if you bought me shoes. That's just the way I am.
