Make Homemade Pancake syrup

Homemade Syrup

The following Best Savings Tip comes from reader, Angela:

I make my own syrup using maple syrup extract.

Homemade Pancake Syrup Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp, Maple Syrup Extract
  • 2 cups, Sugar
  • 1 cup, Boiling Water

Let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes to thicken and you have your homemade pancake syrup! I figured out this cost $0.25 to make.

  1. Thank you! Syrup is so expensive!

  2. No problem! My kids LOVE, LOVE, LOVE pancakes and waffles. I could go thru a bottle every week. Which was why I looked into making my own. It’s easy and VERY cheap to just make your own. I bought my maple extract on Amazon and haven’t even used a whole bottle yet.
