Fat Burnin’ Friday: I Gotta Get Through This

So, there is really nothing to say other than I just gotta get through this funk! I feel like my eating, exercising, mental health have all been neglected lately. Granted, I did have BlogHer last weekend so recovering from the lack of sleep took a few days.

I was talking to my husband and said next week is the week I get back into it. I mean, I haven't been completely out of it, but I just haven't been as committed. My son just started Football practice up again. Last year, I would run the first hour of practice and hang out for the second hour. So, I plan on doing the same thing this year. The practice location has changed to our school where they run cross country (5k course). I just have to find the exact course. Or, I can always run with my iPhone using the RunKeeper application!

I'm also planning out my menu again. I'm going to plan my lunch now too (I'd just plan dinners before). I have noticed that I'm just not eating. Obviously that slows the metabolism so that isn't good. I'm not drinking enough water either. But, I got a really cool water bottle from the 5k at BlogHer so I'm excited!! Sad that a water bottle excites me, I know. I'm also going to get some lemon so I can make the spa water – it always tastes better! But, that may also be because I've just been pampered in some way after drinking it. That may affect my judgement. Lemon conspiracy anyone???

I'm also loading the same songs back onto my ipod that I ran with last year. The songs weren't all power house songs, but they were amazing songs I could meditate on and get me focused on God. Let me just say, if you haven't heard Mandisa's version of “Shackles” it will pump you up like none other!!

So, I think I have a plan. I am really going to work hard to achieve it. How have you done?

    you go girl! i need to join you! i gained 65 lbs with my pregnancy…baby is 6.5 months old. i’ve lost 35 lbs so far. i’m SO tired of this baby weight and not being able to wear my clothes! argh! i think that cardio is the only way it’s gonna come off…running here i come!

      Myra, 35 pounds is so awesome!!! Cardio was the only thing that worked for me. Well, along with eating the right foods of course. I can’t do just one or the other – I think my body rebels against that approach!

    Hello! I’ve been struggling with motivation too…I’ve got about 14 pounds to get to where I feel ok about my body, and about 20 to get to my ideal weight.

    My baby turned 5 months old this week and I realized it’s time to get to it. I’ve been focusing on eating only when I’m hungry and I have found that if I work out in the morning then it’s easier for me to stay on track. It’s all stuff I know, I just have to DO it.

    I just keep thinking how nice it will feel not to have to make a New Year’s Resolution to lose weight in January.

    Anyway, good luck! I’m cheering you on as I’m working to meet my goals, too.

      Jenni – good luck! Wow, the weight loss is great for your baby just being 5 months old! I’m with you too – not having that resolution will be so amazing!

    I don’t have a weight issue (YET) (thank you, good genes!) BUT — I have a serious “soft” issue, complicated by TIRED issues and too-much-computer issues and “almost 35” metabolism slowing issues.

    Time for some self-discipline and energy-inducing exercise!

    I need to get motivated to get back on track. I lost 35lbs last year, only to gain 20lbs back, and now need to lose 40-45lbs. A couple things:

    1. Your pictures really don’t do you justice, your very athletic and toned!

    2. I am going to run next year with you and Julie, if it kills me!

    3. I need to work on menu planning more – this is my main problem. I have gotten away from eating healthy this summer, thus the 20lbs!

    Keep going girl!

      Shannon, you are very sweet!!! I would love for you to run that with me and Julie! Well, Julie mostly kicked up butt during the run!!! I think whenever I plan out my menu and even my exercise, I’m more prepared to stick with it. I’m looking forward to next week and staying on top of things.
