Party Ice Balloons for Entertaining and Birthdays

We love to entertain friends at our house so we can relax and let the kids play.  I am always looking out for new ideas to spice up our next gathering.  I could not resist this colorful and adorable cold pack idea for beverages or anything else that will needs to be chilled.

Party Balloon Ice Supplies

:: Water
:: Balloons
:: Freezer

Party Ice Balloons Instructions

{Step 1} Fill the balloons to the desired size with water.

{Step 2}Place water balloons in freezer for at least 6 hours, however, overnight would be ideal.

{Step 3} Place in container to keep beverages or just about anything chilled.

Project Cost

This project is pretty inexpensive because you can pick up a pack of balloons for a $1 at most stores.  A pack should be sufficient but it will depend on how many party ice balloons you will be using for your occasion.  However, I can see the party ice balloons turning into a water balloon fight once they have melted. ;)

  1. Totally cool (yar har) idea! Do the balloons expand a little while freezing since water tends to expand as it turns into ice? Should I make extra room in the freezer when placing the filled balloons?

  2. if you want to avoid the balloon fight, slice and peel the balloon off the ice before placing in the container (looks cool to have big round ice balls), then all you have is a container of water at the end!
