Diet & Fitness Snack: Fat Burnin’ Friday

This week was a slow week with weight loss again. I did lose one pound, but I want to see some serious numbers (like 2 or 3). Oh well, this weight loss is still within my weekly weight loss goals, so I have been doing something right! And, since we celebrated Andon's First Birthday, I just realized that I have lost a total of 59 pounds since giving birth. I cannot believe it! I seriously need to get myself something nice….well, actually, I am going to do something when I lose another pound. I will feel such a huge accomplishment when I hit that mark. That thought leads me to this…

Reward Yourself!

You know I am pretty frugal, but I really feel like you need to reward your accomplishments in life! As a stay-at-home mommy, I don't get a review or increase so when I accomplish one of my personal goals like losing this weight, I feel like a small reward is appropriate! Nothing extravagant for me, but just something to treat myself. Side Note – I did try to implement a performance management system as a way for my hubby to measure my performance in my domestic role once I stopped working, but it lasted one week – good thing too or I'da been fired a loooong time ago :-)

So, when I lose another pound (hopefully next week – well, hopefully it will be more than that), I am getting myself a pedicure (with cash too)! My running toes will surely appreciate it! And, when I get 10 pounds from my goal, I think I'll splurge for a spa day or something – since my muscles get put to the test everyday!

    Awesome weight loss! I love it – 59 pounds in a year! You go girl! Your running toes definitely deserve a pedicure. I’m still working on losing my baby weight (4 years later).

    I like the idea of a performance management system from your hubby. I might have to add that into my stay-at-home mom proposal (that way he can think he’s got some kind of control).

    I have a goals/rewards in place…it was one of the first things I did.
    15 pounds – haircut (boy, I really need this one – long hair and warm weather don’t go!!)
    25 pounds – pedicure or manicure
    35 pounds – massage (for passing the halfway mark)
    45 pounds – outfit
    55 pounds – hair highlight
    60 pounds – weekend trip without kids (just me and my honey!!)

    Wow, Andrea! 59 pounds is awesome! That is a huge accomplishment. You certainly deserve a pedicure. Just make sure you use a coupon! ;-)

    Personally, I lost the last of my baby weight at Curves. I loved working out there, since I hate the real gym full of sweaty men. My baby is 28 months old, and I am back in my old jeans, woo hoo!
