Diet & Fitness Snack: Fat Burnin’ Friday

I have been very good this week…with exercising at least :-) I will say, on Monday evening I resisted every temptation to grab the Rice Krispie treats (I have been making these every couple days because they taste soooo good!) and other goodies that are always lying around during the holidays. But, one evening I was munching on a cookie (that Cat sent me from Germany) because I was hungry. Well, I thought to myself, I don't care what everyone says about weight loss…

Have you ever heard or read in magazines that people say “I eat whatever I want, I'm eating all the time…I'm never hungry.” I'm like Whatev! The fact is, when you limit your calories and burn off a few too, you will be hungry! I find that running makes me even more hungry too.

Now, you have the choice on this, of course. You can either cave in and snack on something healthy or not healthy (like my cookies above :-). I think the point is to have a “safe” snack close-by to ensure that when hunger strikes, you are ready to make the wise choice. (I'll be talking about a few of my favorite snacks in the weeks ahead too). And, then there are days too when, as I've mentioned before, caving to that craving is good and helpful so you don't binge on the item. Believe me, been there done that :-)

And, those cookies and lack of exercise for over a month did have me gain 2 pounds. Now, it could be bloating (read between the lines) or it just could be flub. It doesn't matter really since it's there and needs to come off! So, I'll be continuing my exercise routine again because come January 2009, this momma is 110% focused on burnin' the rest of this fat off FOREVER!
