Diet & Fitness Snack: Fat Burnin’ Friday

This week was mentally challenging for my exercise. I was drained physically, and mentally for some reason too. As I went out for my run, I was pumped at that first stride, but that waned and I was talking myself out of the run. I did end up stopping to walk briefly during a few runs this week which I was disappointed with (just my personal goal of building up endurance). However, I've noticed if I give myself more time to relax and just stop and focus and have a personal goal for that workout, I am more focused. My head is clear and my mind is on the prize! Which leads me to this…

Exercise is Mind over Matter!

Or something like that :-) For me, sometimes my body is ready to go but my mind isn't. Like on Wednesday night, the final 5 minutes I decided to hit another hill (I go up 4 big ones as it is) and my mind was telling me “Give it up girl, what are you trying to prove?” Well, I heard a song and it was the inspiration I needed to make it up that hill and “not be moved” by what my mind was trying to tell me! I had to do it – I wasn't giving up on that last hill with just a half mile left. So, for me, getting my mind focused on what I am about to achieve helps me get a good workout in! It's not if I will achieve what I set, but what I will achieve!

On the weight-loss front I stayed the same this week, which I guess is good. I am eating more because I feel my body needs more food right now for the energy so I know this is part of the reason there isn't a loss. It's one of those things I'll have to play around with to see what will work for me and still give me the results I need. I am still a work in progress!

How as your week? Do you ever talk yourself into/out of exercise? Good luck this week coming up!

I always talk myself out of exercise and it bums me out. Last night my arms were so tired during weight lifting so I’d stop half way through and think about quitting, then I’d say outloud “You are tougher than these weights!” and keep going! I was so pleased that I finsihed my sets, even thought I was dying to stop!

Wow, Andrea! 32lbs since January, that is fantastic! You are definitely my inspiration now.

I haven’t been to the gym since Tuesday. My leg still hurt from my Elliptical incident so I took yesterday off too. Gotta get back into it!

Keep up the great work and I’ll have to read your previous Fat Burnin’ Friday to see your progress. Sometimes the road seems tooooo long.

Congratulations Andrea on your 32 lb loss. That’s very inspirational. I have found that always having a goal to reach toward will keep you moving and pushing yourself.

    Great job!
