Diet & FItness Snack: Fat Burnin’ Friday

OK, so I've been at this fat burnin' journey [on the record] since January this year. I think it's taken me a little longer to get the results I wanted. Can't all this stuff happen like yesterday? I have a few friends who have started this journey too and I am so happy that they have stayed committed to it! One friend, Dawn, emailed me the other day and told me she dropped another size…she just officially droped her first size like last week! Well, when she told me this, I had to ask her for her best tip. She gave me a couple so I thought I would share one of them with you too. Holding each other accountable!

I've mentioned this several times but in honor of Dawn's success, it's getting “bolded” as a tip! Yes, Dawn has had her workout partner, Natalie (my other friend), going with her to the gym for the past 3 months, 5 days a week working their badunkadunks off at least an hour each day (and they go at like 6 AM…yes, AM). That is some serious accountability right there! But, one of the biggest things Dawn has requested in this fat burnin' effort is her friends' prayers. Yeap, I said it, prayer! That works for everything in my life and going on a journey like losing weight is another area that God can answer and work in great ways! Yes hard work and sweat helps but we all know that our help ultimately comes from the Lord! Dawn, I'm so happy for your committment and faithfulness – Woot Woot to you!!

Speaking of prayer and encouragement, I have several new songs loaded on my ipod that did provide me some heavenly encouragement this week! I was facing a hill and heard this song, and thought, “Yeap, His grace is enough,” and I knew I could make it up that hill…and back down…and another mile up the road before I reached my house. I find myself praying all the time as I'm working out. Listening to encouraging music keeps me running for a purpose – and also distracts my mind so much!

And, I guess I was distracted a lot this week since I had some really good exercise! I mentioned last Saturday how I just got lost in a song and before I knew it, I had run 2 miles – no pain, no laboring of breath…nada. Talk about good music – it helped me lose 2 pounds this week! Did ya hear that right cause I had to do a double take at the scales! Needless to say, I'm ecstatic and hope my drive keeps on movin!

    It's all about accountability for me too. But to be honest, I'm too chicken to share my goals with someone face-to-face… so I joined dietbug & now I can have accountability with online friends! I'm still nervous about sharing but I KNOW I NEED TO! Check out my post:

    First off, you rock!! You are so close to your goal, dosen’t that feel great?! Second, I am sooooo LOVIN that song! Every time I hear it on KLOVE, I kid you not, I am raisin’ my hand praising Him. We are going through some tough times, but His grace will get us through. Keep rockin those workouts!
