Diet & Fitness Snack: Fat Burnin’ Friday

I was watching Oprah a while ago and she shared that she has to have a crunchy textured food item in order not to go nuts on junk to curb that craving (the crunchy item she preferred was WASA crackers, which are high in fiber and pretty good to use for a bread substitution in case you're interested). That made me think…

What is my food that helps me curb that craving?

You know I'm frugal, but when it comes to curbing a craving and staying ON my diet and ON track for my weight loss goals, I love Baked Lays Cheddar & Sour Cream potato chips. When I'm trying to be disciplined about diet and exercise, these are a staple in my house. So, that would have to be one of mine. And, they are rarely on sale and there's never coupons (gasp..I think I had a mini stroke!). So, I pay full price. But, it's an investment that is necessary so my exercise efforts aren't in vein! But, I also do cave to my cravings since I do believe that is key to curbing cravings!

And, on to my weight loss – nada this week! I wasn't slacking either so I'm not sure why I didn't lose anything. I hope I don't go off the deep end during vacation next week – wish me luck!!

So, along with your weekly results, please also share with me that one thing you have to have around when you're trying to watch those pesky calories? Give me some ideas. I figure, I'll either have new favorites, or maybe some less expensive ones to call my own!

I like baked tostitos and salsa! Sometimes I add in a little low fat sour cream if I want something creamer. This and a glass of Crystal Light…perfect snack to satisfy my cravings!

But those baked sour cream and cheddar Lays are a close second!

Good luck on vacation! But more importantly, relax and have a great time!!
I just got back from vacation earlier this week and gained 0.4 pounds. Now it doesn’t sound so bad, and I know I can loose it!
My favorite salty snack? I really like to ‘make’ my own tortilla chips. (and its really cheap!) Take a few corn tortillas, cut them in 4ths, spray with non-stick spray both sides, a little salt and bake for almost 10 minutes at 400 (keep a close eye on them, make sure they get lightly toasted so they are not soft at all) No need to flip them. They are really good and hearty!

    Have a great trip!

I always keep pretzels on hand. That gives me some satisfaction when I’m watching my weight:) I either eat them alone or sometimes I’ll get maybe 1/4 cup of ice cream and eat it with the pretzels. It’s not that many points on Weight Watchers, but it definately helps those cravings.

    Good luck on vacation!

I usually have Chex cereal, pretzels or crackers on hand. But if it’s a bad craving that I have, I usually go brush my teeth. The craving goes away…because I know it will taste awful!

Hi. I just found you through moneysavingmom. So, I am gonna use your Friday posts as my accountability. Hope that is okay! I am keeping track of both pounds and inches on my torso and thighs. Of course, my stomach is easy when I have trouble buttoning up, like today. I am 26 years old and today I weigh more than ever before. I need to lose 50 pounds to return to my wedding day size from five years ago.
