Diet & Fitness Snack: Fat Burnin’ Friday

Oh, this week was just a maintenance week for me. I had no weight loss which also means I had no weight gain either :-) I did work out faithfully as always, but I'm seriously lacking when it comes to the eating department! We had a snack gathering after church on Sunday evening and I was eating like I was birthin' another baby! All the food was so good, but I just need to control myself when I come across the yummy goodness of snacks like that! My own personal need leads me to this…

Control the Controllables

I can't control many things in my life, but I can control what goes into my mouth and I need to learn to do that better when I'm around some of the amazing goodies my friends make! Whenever we're in social situations, my hubby always manages the kiddos because he's soooo not a social butterfly (that's why God blessed him with me :-) So, maybe I need to do that when there's all that food around and I wont' be tempted and I will do better at staying in control!

I always give myself the weekend to eat whatever I want, but I've found that when there's more activities going on throughout the summer, the weekends spill into the week and well, no weight loss. But, I am bloated so maybe that's why too – or maybe those brownies just wanted to stay around this week and remind me how evil they really are! I digress :-)

Do you have any tips on how you control yourself in situations like this? How did you do? Is your exercise going strong still with the summer here? Please share your results this week too because I love to hear from ya and consider it a privilege to encourage you as you are in this fat burnin' journey with me!!

    I haven’t worked out much this week (see my personal blog: And I haven’t been eating better. Hubby is a horrible eater and its hard to make meals that he likes, let along is healthy. Lately I’ve been buying frozen veggies and adding them to my dinners. Luckily I’m a slow eater so when Hubby is on his 3rd helping, I’m still working my way through the first. I’m still eating with him but I’m not matching him serving for serving.

    Andrea, summer is the hardest time to focus on myself since I’ve got all the kids here all day.

    I try to swim with my daughter if my dh is at the pool with us and can manage our younger two.

    But I gotta be honest, I haven’t seen the inside of the cardio room at my Y for almost three weeks.

    I work out for mental release, not weight loss. I’m missing that time to myself!

    Started the gym this week. Four days!!! Yippee for me (and my partner Natalie). She is such a help. Monday we start with our trainer, for free…Yes, I said free. He works out when we do and said he’s going to work us out on Monday. We’ll have to see about that. Feelin the pain but thanking God I have a friend to go with me. Also thanking God for a prayer partner in this torture I’m feeling. You look awesome so keep it up!

    My tips for eating healthy? Don’t get hungry. MAKE yourself fill up on raw veggies for snacks. Don’t go to a party hungry, get in a healthy meal or big snack beforehand, and when you get there find the fruit platter and snack only off that or the veggies. No dip. I used to be so good and always lived by those rules but have had a harder time these past few years. Its so hard to say no to chips and chocolate, until you forget how good they are!

    And, no weight loss means no weight gain. Great job! The scale said I gained 1 lb this week. Thats really bad, I even worked out 3 times! I have been feeling off the past few days, almost PMS like, maybe Im bloated as well…. anyway, I really believe its water weight or something. I will try super hard this week and hopefully get rewarded with results to show!
