Kenwood Towne Center | Disney Store Imagination is Now Open!

Amber, Becky & Bridgett at the Disney Store Grand Opening

Boy, I have missed the Disney Store that we had in Dayton that closed several years ago.  I was so excited to be invited to the Grand Opening of the Disney Store Interactive Park to be one of the first people to experience this new store, yesterday.  You will have to take the short drive yourself but I will share all the magic that I experienced just to give you a taste.  Trust me, you will LOVE it!!!

First, the store is absolutely gorgeous!  You will walk into the store unto the Pixie Path which is a purple tile floor that glitters with pixie dust. To the right and you will find the Disney Princess Dress-Up and everything princess.  My favorite is the Cinderella castle where your princess can walk through and talk to their favorite princess with a special wand through a special mirror. This is so cool and little girls will LOVE this!! (squeeel).  This is where I am a little jealous of mothers with girls!  I have to admit that my eyes were caught up in the magic!

They have incorporated many of Cincinnati’s landmarks into the design of the store.  You will want to look for these along the walls.  You will find the following:

  • Alladin & Jasmine in the gazebo at Mirror Lake in Eden Park
  • Carl from UP flying over the balloons of Balluminaria also at Mirror Lake
  • Belle & Beast near the fountain of Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal
  • Flynn scales a 172-foot high water tower built in 1894.
  • Cinderella’s Coach racing over the John A . Roebling Suspension Bridge
  • Characters catching carriage rides near the Tyler Davidson Fountain in Fountain Square
  • Mark Twain Riverboat going down the Ohio River

I really loved the translucent trees throughout the store where you can spot hidden Mickey cutouts.  These are very fun and bring so much of the magic of Disney into the store!  Try to see if you can find a mickey in the tree.  I know you can see at least one in the photo!

Alright!  For those of us blessed with all boys, we have not been forgotten!  The boys will love the Cars Ridemakerz experience where they will get to try out some  of the cars products.  They have some really cool Cars Products and the die cast cars are sure to be on your little guys list!  Not to mention, my boys would love the Cars Race Car Driver Dress-Up, as well.  They also have many of their favorite Marvel characters, too!  Check it out!

The kids will love the Disney Store Theater that features Disney Entertainment.  They can pick their favorite movie clip to view, while they color or draw pictures at the table.  The store will also have daily activities for the kids to enjoy.  They can learn how to draw their favorite character or join in the Hot Dog Dance!

This is truly a magical place and my boys were so jealous when I told them that I visited the Disney Store. If you did not come down for the Grand Opening, make sure to mark your calendars for the September 10.  You will have the opportunity to snap some pics with Mickey Mouse and Goofy in the Nordstrom Court! Mark has stolen my stuffed Mickey Mouse that I received in my swag bag.  I don’t think I can take him away, could you?

You can also find more pictures from the Grand Opening on the Disney Store Facebook Wall.  Head down there and experience the Magic of Disney at their new store!  You will NOT be disappointed!
